WHAT IS FAT DISSOLVING INJECTIONS?

Fat dissolving injections contains active ingredient sodium deoxycholate (deoxycholic acid), a synthetic form of a substance that your body makes and uses to absorb fat (bile salt). It is type of effective cosmetic injectables that can help you to get rid of the stubborn submental fat and provide a long lasting result. 

AM I A CANDIDATE?

The ideal candidate for the fat dissolving injection treatment is someone who is not interested in a surgical procedure and who has a stubborn area of fat which is relatively non-responsive to dieting and exercise.

ARE THEY SAFE?

The treatment itself is relatively simple. It is delivered through injection points using a long thin needle to access the subcutaneous fat. Submental fat dissolving injection is FAD approved since 2015, it has proven to be a very safe procedure. 

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

You may experience swelling, bruising, itching, pain, sensitivity to pressure and excessive warmth at the injection site. Some people may experience nausea, difficult swallowing and high blood pressure, however, this is usually resolved within three to five days.   

ARE THERE ANY DOWNTIME?

The biggest thing to note with these forms of injectable treatments is they do require a bit of downtime. Though most common swelling, bruising, itching pain will resolve within 3-5 days. Some swelling may last 4-6 weeks in total. Follow the aftercare may help you to minimize the downtime. 

WHEN DO I SEE THE RESULT AND HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

The fat dissolving product  works to breakdown the fat cell membranes, causing them to become unstable and eventually flush out your body via lymphatic system. This ' flushing' process may take 6-8 weeks, at which point you will see if second injections are needed, or you will be able to enjoy a long lasting result.

WHAT'S THE AFTERCARE?

Follow the 3-C rules aftercare steps:
COOL

• Use regular cold compresses in the first day. The pain sensation will last a few hours.
• Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours

CALM

• Pain relief such as paracetamol may be taken as directed by your physician
• Do not massage the area

CLEAR

• Avoid alcohol for 24 hours
• Do not use active products, including AHA, Retinols, Vitamin C etc
• Makeup can be applied 24 hours after procedure
