What Is PLLA Collagen Stimulator?
PLLA (Poly-L-Lactic Acid) is an advanced biostimulator designed to restore facial volume and improve skin structure over time by stimulating your body’s own collagen production.
Unlike traditional dermal fillers, which create volume by directly filling the area, PLLA works gradually and deeply by activating your skin’s natural regenerative process. Over several weeks, PLLA encourages the rebuilding of lost collagen—creating a smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking appearance that looks entirely natural.
PLLA has been used globally for decades in regenerative medicine and aesthetic medicine and is biocompatible, biodegradable, and clinically proven for safe, long-lasting results.
How Does PLLA Work?
After treatment, PLLA particles are absorbed by the skin and stimulate fibroblasts to produce new collagen. As your collagen regenerates, the treated areas gradually regain firmness and volume. This process can take several weeks to months, but the results are worth the wait—they can last up to two years or more with proper care.

Sculptra Aesthetic should be injected into the deep dermis. Superficial injections may be associated with small bumps and lumps under the skin in the treated area. The best way to minimize side effects is to seek a skilled specialist. Treatment should always be administered by a physician who has been thoroughly and specifically trained on Sculptra Aesthetic.
The most commonly reported side effects are:
Sculptra is intended for use in people with healthy immune systems as one-time treatment regimen of up to 4 injection sessions that are scheduled about 3 weeks apart from correction of shallow to deep nasolabial fold contour deficiencies and other facial wrinkles in which deep dermal grid pattern (cross-hatch) injection technique is appropriate.
You should not get sculptra aesthetic if you:
Your medical provider may use a topical anesthetic to minimize discomfort during the procedure.
Sculptra was pre-prepared 48 hours before the injections. Then it is injected into deep dermis of the concerned area at the treatment day.
You should not receive treatment if you have an active skin infection or skin inflammation near the planned injection site.
Though sculptra injection in general is a very safe procedure when practiced by an experienced injector. However, like any injectables, one of the risks with using this product is unintentional injection into blood vessel. The chances of this happening are very small, but if it does happen, the complications can be serious, and may be permanent.
These complications, which have been reported for facial injections, can include vision abnormalities, blindness, stroke, temporary scabs, or permanent scarring of the skin.
If you notice changes in your vision, signs of a stroke(including sudden difficulty speaking, dizziness, or confusion), white appearance of the skin, or unusual pain during or shortly after treatment, you should notify your health care practitioner immediately.
A trained medical professional administers Sculptra Aesthetic in a series of injection sessions. Patients typically require an average of three treatments over a few months, but your doctor will tailor the sessions to you.
Any swelling that may occur after treatments usually subsides within a few days, and the wrinkles will temporarily reappear as the gradual process of collagen replacement continues. You may begin to see progressive, visible results within the first few weeks after each treatment session.
Follow the after care instructions to minimize side effects and get the most of the result:
A cold pack or ice pack will help reduce any common swelling. Within the first 24 hours of treatment, apply a cloth-wrapped cold pack to the treated area for a few minutes at a time. Never apply ice directly to the skin.
2. Facial massage
Massage the treated area for five minutes five times a day for five days after treatment, as recommended by your physician.
3. Avoid sunlight
After treatment, excessive sunlight and UV lamp exposure should be avoided until any initial swelling and redness go away. Your doctor will provide guidelines on sunscreen protection and how to avoid excessive sunlight.
