Additionally, patients who have an allergy to cow products should tell their doctor. These patients could experience an allergic reaction if the platelet-rich plasma is combined with an additive called bovine thrombin, which is derived from cows.
Our blood is essentially made up of four components; red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma and platelets. During the procedure, your blood will be withdrawn, then it will be pinned in a medical centrifuge, which enables the separation of the blood cells from platelet rich plasma.
